Admittedly this is one of our more unusual posts,
but you might be surprised at the practical use you can get
from
your dishwasher if you are willing to go beyond the pots-and-pans routine of cleaning!
This fine little kitchen machine can impress you with its varied talents. We did a little homework and found out some great hints for your dishwasher:
- After your kids have a fun play date with the neighborhood friends, you can clean those plastic toys right up with a cycle in the dishwasher.
- Light fixture glass globes can get a good scrubbing.
- We are told that few things clean your potatoes better than a rinse-only run through the dishwasher.
- Put your dirty sponges in the cutlery basket and you’ll be seeing some new sanitized results in no time.
And if that is not unusual enough, Reviewed.com surprises us with this item: “It’s ironic that your dishwasher—a machine devoted to cleaning dishware—can itself get dirty. Apartment Therapy recommends using Kool-Aid drink mix (that’s right, Kool-Aid drink mix) to rinse out lime deposits and iron stains. Just empty a packet of the Lemonade flavor into the detergent dispenser and give it a go.”
