Painting with a Purpose Mission Statement

Through our Painting with a Purpose initiative, our mission is to give back to the community year-round by using the power of paint to uplift and transform spaces that matter. Through our gift of paint projects, we aim to bring new life to local areas, expressing our gratitude and commitment to those who have supported us.

PAINTING WITH A PURPOSE 2026

At McLain’s Painting Service, we consider it a real gift to be able to live, work, and paint here in the Knoxville area. That’s why we give back just as often as we can, using our skills to share our gratitude in a tangible way.

 

That’s the heart behind Painting with a Purpose, our annual initiative where we step away from “business as usual” and donate services to a local nonprofit in Knoxville. And this spring, we had the absolute joy of painting for John 3:16 Outreach Ministry of Blount County.


John 3:16 Outreach Ministry is a nonprofit that's getting closer to opening a community resource center for people experiencing homelessness. The center, located in a 50-year-old building on Jefferson Avenue in Maryville, will offer laundry facilities, showers, a kitchen, lockers for storing belongings, a mailing address, and a large gathering space for church services and meetings.


So when the community nominated John 3:16 Outreach Ministry our team cast the final vote, the decision was clear: this was the place to pour our time, energy, and yes, gallons of paint.


A Closer Look At the Big Day!


The day itself? Pure energy. Volunteers showed up with smiles (and old clothes they wouldn’t mind sacrificing to the cause). Ladders went up, brushes went in, and before long, the building began to transform. More importantly, so did the atmosphere. There’s a kind of magic in watching a space, and the people within it, light up together.


This wasn’t just another job. It was a chance to serve, to connect, and to be reminded why community matters.

John 3:16 Ministry Outreach is a nonprofit that is a Church and Resource Center offering physical and spiritual sustenance to all, providing basic human needs and emphasizing inclusiveness for those experiencing homelessness.

HOW DOES PAINTING WITH A PURPOSE WORK?

Painting with a Purpose is all about giving back to our community through the work we love most. Each quarter, our committee will review nominations for both small and large projects. Smaller painting jobs will be announced to our team, with volunteers stepping in to make an impact where it’s needed most.


Once a year, we’ll select one 501c3 organization to receive $10,000 worth of painting services. This special project will bring our entire company together for a full community event, creating a big transformation for a local charity.


We’d love your help in finding the organizations that could benefit most. Nominate a deserving non-profit, church, or 501c3 during our nomination windows and join us in spreading the purpose behind our paintbrushes.


HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?

There are a few ways you can participate:

  • Nominate an organization during our nomination window
  • Volunteer to help with the project
  • Donate to the project
